God's Boxes

I have in my hands two boxes,
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box, And all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes,
Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
But though the gold became heavier each day, The black was as light as before.
With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole,
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God, and mused,
"I wonder where my sorrows could be!"
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me.."
I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
The black is for you to let go."

Action Photography: Shutter Speeds and Apertures

Shutter speeds and aperture... I deal with them last July 23 with my friend Chum (to whom I give thanks for allowing me borrow her cam), as our Photography Lab exercise number four. Then a wonderful experience in Carnival after.

This exercise took my breath away as I comply the shot list given to us by our professor. Chum, a classmate and kind friend of mine lend her cam for the assignment given to us by Sir Evans. We tour the campus just to search for some actions to capture. And we landed in gym. Seeing the students who played badminton, table tennis, basket ball and a group of young men with their coach having their practice for Sepak takraw, had excite both of us to capture real action.

Before taking photographs, we review the shot list and get myself familiar with her cameras setting. We also observed first our subjects movement. Then I try it looking through the viewfinder and click the shutter release button. I was so amazed with how a camera can capture actions. We shoot and shoot in different subjects and angles.
